Steve Grove


BOOKISH…..??

Steve is now the Director of the Franzello AeroMedical Library at School of Aerospace Medicine on the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. He did a year of training in San Antonio at Brooks City base. from October 2009 to December 2010. He returned to Ohio at the end of December and took the entire Library with him…300,000 volumes. Well, 20 semis actually were used to move the collection to a new building. Working for the Air Force is quite an experience. However, the job is great. Many of the historic documents include original papers from some of the most renowned aerospace medicine researchers. He and Callie, his new cat, live peacefully near the base .

In 2009, he became Manager of Library Services at EMH Regional Healthcare System in Elyria Ohio. Previously he worked as the Consumer Health Specialist for the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Cleveland.
PDAS in the Midwest in E-Sources, an e-journal published by Greater Midwest Region of the National Library of Medicine. He presented a paper at the Midwest Chapter of Medical Library Association’s annual conference in Minneapolis in September as well as participating in a panel discussion on the use of PDAs in medical libraries. He has also participated in the research for Dr. John Como’s clinical practice guideline entitled Practice Management Guidelines for Nonoperative Management of Penetrating Abdominal Trauma published by Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma in April of 2007.
 
He held the position of medical librarian at the Brittingham Memorial Library for the MetroHealth Medical Center, a teaching hospital affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, where he also served as Resource Coordinator for PDA information He was member of the PDA Library Users Group (PLUG) at the Medical Center.

Previously he was medical librarian at Community Health Partners in Lorain, Ohio. He has co-authored an article with Christine Dziedzina, chief librarian for the Brittingham Memorial Library, entitled
 
He holds a BA in English/Speech and Theater from Luther College, the MA in English as well as the MA in Library Science from the University of Iowa. Steve is active in several local and national organizations including the Medical Library Association of Northeastern Ohio, the Midwest Chapter of Medical Library Association and the Medical Library Association. He is a senior member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals.

Mr. Grove has been a member of the library profession for over twenty-five years holding positions in school, special, public and academic libraries in the Midwest.
