Linda (Satren) Bengtson

After owning the school buses in Wanamingo for 17 years, we moved to Northfield in 1997 where our two children attended high school. With Nathan and Brianna having been adopted from Korea, I started a home-based business called "Something Special" in 1993 where I was a vendor at Asian Culture Camps in the summer selling handmade Asian-themed items. It was a great way to connect with other adoptive families for 16 years. Now retired and taking it easy, Denny continues to work part-time at St. Olaf College.

Both of our children sought out the West Coast for their college choices.   Nathan attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and worked in the Seattle area for about four years before returning to Minnesota.   He lives in Minneapolis and manages a Starbucks store in the area.   Brianna's college experience took her to Los Angeles where she attended Occidental College.   After graduation she returned to Minnesota and worked for AmeriCorps for one year and then went to Seoul, Korea on a language scholarship.   She has been there for four years and works at an English Academy called E-Spirit where Korean children come after school to learn English as a second language.   Looking forward to having her home for the holidays this year.
